About the role

SalesGit is where African creators and small businesses sell online — digital products, online courses, event tickets and physical goods, all from one store they own. We are looking for a Social Media Manager to own how that story shows up every day on Instagram, X, TikTok, LinkedIn and Facebook. This is an internship, but not a fetch-coffee internship. We want someone who already knows their way around content and design, and who is looking for a real organisation to practise in, take ownership, and grow with. You will not be posting someone else's work — you will be planning it, making it, shipping it, and watching what it does. WHAT YOU'LL DO • Plan and run the content calendar across our channels, and keep it actually full • Create the content yourself — short-form video, carousels, graphics, captions, simple motion • Design assets that look like us: clean, confident, African-first • Turn real seller stories into content people want to share • Write copy that sounds like a person, not a brochure • Reply to comments and DMs, and bring what you hear there back to the team • Track what worked, drop what didn't, and tell us plainly which is which • Submit content for approval, then track how each piece performed once it's live WHAT WE PROVIDE • The design and scheduling tools you need for the job, where applicable • A named person to review your work and give you real feedback, not silence • Access to the founders, the product, and the sellers actually using it • Room to try things. Some will flop. That is expected and fine. REMUNERATION Discussed openly at interview and based on your experience and the hours you can commit. We would rather have a straight conversation about money than post a vague number. GROWING WITH US This role is built to become something. A Social Media Manager who does this well moves into owning a channel properly, or into the wider marketing role as we grow. We would much rather promote you than replace you.

What we're looking for

• A portfolio — an account you have run, content you have made, designs you have shipped. This matters far more to us than a certificate. • Comfortable creating: you can shoot and edit short video on a phone and design a decent graphic without waiting for anyone • Working knowledge of a design tool (Canva, Figma, Photoshop or similar) — you tell us which • You write well in English, in a natural voice • You understand African social media specifically: what trends here, what tone lands, what falls flat • Organised enough to keep a content calendar without being chased • Honest about numbers — including when a post did badly NICE TO HAVE • You have grown an account from nothing, even a small one • Basic motion or animation • You have sold something online yourself — anything • Some familiarity with paid social WHO THIS SUITS Someone with real hands-on experience who is early in their career and wants a place to build a track record with their name on it. HOW TO APPLY Send your CV and — more importantly — links to work you have made. Tell us in your cover letter about one piece of content you are proud of and one that did not work, and what you took from each.

What we provide

• Design and scheduling tools provided where applicable • A named reviewer who gives real feedback, not silence • Direct access to the founders, the product, and real sellers • Room to experiment — some posts will flop, that's expected

How to apply

Send your CV and links to work you have made. In your cover letter, tell us about one piece of content you're proud of and one that didn't work, and what you took from each.
