Important things you need to know before you start

A few things that aren't obvious at first glance but will save you time later.

Your plan sets your limits

The Free plan is genuinely usable for a real small store, but it caps how many products you can list and how much you can sell in a month before you need to upgrade. If checkout suddenly stops working on your store, check your dashboard's billing page first — you may have hit your plan's monthly sales cap, which resumes automatically once you upgrade or the next billing cycle starts.

Payments run through SalesGit by default

Unless you've connected your own payment provider account (a Pro/Enterprise feature), every sale on your store is collected through SalesGit's own payment processing and a small commission is deducted automatically before the rest lands in your wallet. This is normal and is how the Free and Pro plans are priced the way they are.

Guest checkout is the default — and that's fine

Customers are never forced to create an account to buy from your store. Most won't. If a customer does create an account and is logged in at checkout, their order is automatically linked to it so they can find it again later — but a guest order is just as real and still fully trackable by its own order confirmation link.

Digital and course content is protected

Uploaded videos and downloadable files for courses are never publicly reachable — they're only served to someone who's verified as having actually paid for that product. Don't rely on a direct file link working for someone who hasn't purchased; it won't.

Stock and capacity are enforced at the moment of payment

If two customers are checking out for the last unit of something at the same time, only one will succeed — the other gets a clear "sold out" message rather than an order you can't actually fulfill. Set stock quantities accurately so this protection actually protects you.

Deleting a store isn't instant

Requesting to close a store starts a review, it doesn't delete anything immediately. This exists to protect against accidental deletion and to give our team a chance to help if something's wrong instead.
