How to set up a store for physical goods
Physical goods stores are the most common store type on SalesGit — real inventory, shipping details, and order fulfillment tracking, all built in.
1. Open your store
From your dashboard, click "Open a new store," give it a name, pick an accent color, and choose Product store — I sell my own inventory as the store type. Pick a storefront template too; you can change this anytime later.
2. Add your first products
Go to Products → New product. For a physical item, fill in:
- Title, description, and price — the basics.
- Stock quantity — this is enforced at checkout, so keep it accurate. SalesGit automatically flags items as low-stock or out-of-stock as quantity drops.
- Category and images — a clear featured image matters more than almost anything else for conversion.
3. Set up categories (optional but recommended)
Categories help customers browse your store instead of only searching. Create a few from the Categories tab and assign products to them as you go.
4. Launch
New stores start on a waitlist page by default so you can finish setting up privately. When you're ready, launch your store from the dashboard — it immediately becomes reachable at your store's SalesGit subdomain (or your custom domain, on Pro/Enterprise).
5. Fulfilling orders
When an order comes in, you'll find it under Orders in your dashboard. Mark it shipped, add delivery contact details if you're using your own courier, and update its status as it moves — your customer sees these updates on their own order confirmation page.
